Wm. Winkler Company, a leader in construction services across the Inland Northwest, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic support for multiple business entities under common ownership.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. This position is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a diverse range of projects—both public and private. The estimator will review project specifications and drawings, solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes, and prepare detailed cost proposals that meet all bid requirements. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with project management to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret bid documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare accurate and detailed material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
- Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
- Develop complete and competitive cost estimates that align with bid requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the bidding process.
- Participate in pre-bid and post-bid review meetings.
- Support project managers in understanding scope, schedule, and pricing upon award.
- Maintain organized documentation for all estimating activities.
- Stay current with estimating software, market pricing, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Related real world construction experience and/or post high school degree related to the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and bid processes.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with B2W Estimate
- Proficiency with AGTEK
- Proficiency with Plan Swift
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines concurrently.
- Education: Post-secondary degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent industry experience.
Schedule
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Salary and Benefits
Salary – $60,000-$90,000 annually DOE
- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
- 401(k) with 4% company match (eligible upon qualification).
