“William Winkler Company is our concrete contractor on a 438,000 square foot distribution center for Auto Zone. When we select a contractor we look for experience and how many buildings of this type they’ve done before. That’s really important to us. There’s a total of 160 concrete tilt panels. These things are about 40 feet tall, 10 inches thick, 30 feet wide, and they’re about anywhere from 90 to 130,000 pounds. They got us about a week ahead of schedule. Which is a real big deal, because that allows us to bring in the other subs right behind them a little sooner. I’ve always said there’s no time to make up a schedule at the end. You got to do it in the beginning, and we’re doing that now. They’ve been a big part of that. They’ve done a great job on this project, and they’re a real asset to it. Wm. Winkler is an outstanding contractor for us.”
“We’re developing a 24-acre site for an insurance auto auction. We’re from Oklahoma City. The geotech required us to remove 18 inches of topsoil, and the overburden on the top of the property. We hired the Winkler team to come in and crush the 55,000 tons of rock during the cleanup process. They produced some beautiful aggregate. Removing everything from the site would have been very expensive. We kept it onsite. We used the raw products. We eliminated the transportation, which is a lot of fuel, and a lot of emissions. They’ve also helped us in some other areas with trucking, and with the concrete on our building portion. They’re very knowledgeable, and 97 years in business speaks for itself. We work all over the country, and the Winkler team’s one of the top. I will recommend them, any time.”
